 Irish Scamper
Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.
The Scamper is hosted by the Irish track & field team and will feature a 5K, 
winding through the "old town" of Maple Lake.
The 5K run will begin at 11:00 a.m. Race day registration is at 9:00 a.m. in the Maple Lake High School Commons Area and an awards ceremony is set for shortly after the race in the high school commons area.

  Grande Day Parade
Saturday, March 17, 2012; Downtown Maple Lake-
   
The Grande Day Parade is slated to begin at 1:30 p.m. near the community park on Division Street. Parade lineup will begin at 12:30 p.m., and registration can be done by completing the below registration form and dropped off or sent in to Roger's BP Amoco at PO Box 267 Maple Lake MN  55358 or by contacting Deb Geyen at 320-980-3144 or Irene Hudek at 612-270-8586.

 Coronation of the new Ambassadors
Saturday, March 17, 2012; Maple Lake High School Gymnasium
  
The coronation of the new Maple Lake Ambassadors will take place following the Grande Day Parade, starting at approximately 4:30 p.m. Seven candidates will compete for titles as this year's community ambassadors.  Admission for the coronation is $5 (children 5 and under are free). Parade awards will also be presented during the program.


  During the Day  
During the day, the Maple Lake Lions' Club will serve Mulligan Stew and other refreshments at the American Legion Club. In addition, other civic organizations, restaurants and businesses will be offering St. Patrick's Day specials.

The 35th Maple Lake St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Saturday, March 17, 2012, 1:30 p.m.

You are invited to participate in the Maple Lake St. Patrick’s Day Parade!

The parade, sponsored by the Maple Lake Chamber of Commerce, averages about 100 units and

Will be taped for future broadcast on cable TV. PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE IN TIME OF THE PARADE!

The parade line-up will be posted by March 15 on www.ci.maple-lake.mn.us and

maplelakechamber.com.  The parade will begin, rain, snow, or shine, at 1:30 p.m.  Line-up

time is 12:30 p.m. Line-up starts at the intersection of Division and Park in downtown

Maple Lake.  Parade organizers will help you find your assigned spot.

1.        Distribution of materials and candy from floats.  Because of safety concerns, NO candy, printed matter or materials of any kind can be tossed from floats, cars, or other parade unites while on the parade route.  These items must be handed out by walkers behind the float.  Violators will be noted and will not be invited to participate in future parades.  Distribution of items should be organized so that units are not slowed or cause gaps in the parade.

2.       Parade organizers will set the order of parade units based on date of application and best use of participants.

3.       Mechanical Equipment, Licensed Drivers, Decorations and Signs:  Engines, cars and mechanical equipment must be in good condition, attractive in appearance (preferably decorated), and in working order.  All drivers and vehicles must be licensed, and insured.

4.       No parade entry fee for Queens, Nonprofit Organizations, Churches, or members of the M.L. Chamber; All others must submit a $50.00 fee to the Maple Lake Chamber of Commerce along with their registration.

Waiver:  Although every precaution will be taken to provide a safe environment I realize that there could be risks involved, such as those presented by increment weather or the actions of spectators not associated with the festival.  I assume any and all risks associated with participating in this event and hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators or anyone else who might claim on my behalf, covenant not to sue, and waive, release, and discharge any organization associated with the festival, and the local governments and police, volunteers, and any and all sponsors including their agents, employees, assignees or anyone acting on their behalf from any and all claims or liability for death, personal injury or property damage of any kind or nature arising out of, or in the course of, my participation in the event and all other activities associated with this event.  This Release and Waiver extends to all claims of every kind or nature whatsoever, foreseen or unforeseen, known or unknown.  I have read the foregoing and certify my agreement by my signature above.
